A fire has engulfed an area of land in the village of Vajzë in the municipality of Selenica. Firefighting teams are engaged in bringing the fire under control.
Vehicles and firefighters from Vlora have also joined in their assistance.
The fire has reached large proportions, burning significant areas of olive groves and orchards.
The situation remains difficult, while residents express concern that without the intervention of additional emergency forces, the flames risk spreading to even wider areas.
