After the Supreme Court decided to keep Erion Veliaj in prison, rejecting the appeal of the defense of the mayor of Tirana, former prosecutor Eugen Beci reacted.

These are strange, paradoxical elements, but they are good for the public, they are good for the security measures of the people, because certain conditions and criteria are set, which should raise the bar to say that the security measure of arrest in prison is an exceptional measure, not an ordinary measure, but they are paradoxical due to the simple fact that the mayor of the capital is a defendant, is in prison, and is also in office ", he said.
According to him, only in Albania can elements of this type occur.
