Americans have been warned to remain vigilant when visiting a European country known for its stunning Mediterranean scenery. They should exercise extra caution due to the influence of Iran's supreme leader...

The US Embassy in Albania has warned American citizens about threats linked to the Tehran regime.

According to the embassy's announcement in Tirana, groups linked to Iran may be targeting Americans and US-affiliated entities in Albania.

This can also happen during visits to tourist areas, restaurants, and even while shopping.

"Iran-linked groups may seek to target US-linked entities or Iranian opposition elements in Albania," the announcement said.

"They can also target common places, such as tourist areas, shopping malls, hotels, clubs and restaurants."

"We encourage American citizens to exercise increased vigilance."

Travelers concerned about their safety in Albania have been advised to follow local media for updates and be aware of their surroundings, The Sun writes.

American citizens are also recommended to review their personal safety plans and keep cell phones charged in case of an emergency.

Bajram Begaj, the President of Albania, said in early April that he is in daily contact with the National Security Council, which has been monitoring the potential threat.

He is being "informed about every situation and scenario, as well as all measures taken according to security protocols," the presidency added in a statement.

"The President of the Republic continues to communicate with the institutions responsible for public and national security, which are in constant coordination and cooperation with our partners."

The embassy's warning comes as experts continue to warn about Iran's increasing use of hybrid threats.

These include cyberattacks and sabotage, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Donald Trump has signaled that peace negotiations with Iranian leaders could resume this week. He also told Fox Business that the war was "very close to being over."

Albania's reputation as a leading tourist destination in Europe is constantly growing, according to Albania Tourism.

The organization said last September that this “hidden treasure of the Balkans” has become a key destination for visitors from Kosovo, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and the United States.

Albania attracts both budget travelers and those seeking luxurious experiences, the organization added.

“From the pristine beaches of the Ionian and Adriatic coasts to the rugged mountains of the north, Albania offers an unparalleled combination of adventure, relaxation and cultural exploration,” the statement said. /Adapted Pamphlet /
