Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu says there are many questions regarding the goal of the protests organized in Tirana, which oppose the investment in Zvërnec, Vlora.
Spahiu asked a direct question to the protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
'Who wins the elections after 45 days if Prime Minister Edi Rama resigns?', was Spahiu's question to the protesters.
"There are doubts about the real owners and uncertainties about the essence of the property. But it is good that those who defend this cause try to listen to some of the reservations that part of the public opinion has. The main demand of the protesters is the resignation of Edi Rama. So tonight, if Rama resigns and the government falls, then after 45 days we have early elections. I have a question on which I raise the analysis for all the protesters, 'did this cause of Zvërnec serve to weaken Rama and Berisha, or by going to early elections does Rama and Berisha also become stronger?'" Spahiu said, among other things.
Spahiu said that some of the protesters' claims about a non-transparent process and doubts about ownership are valid, but according to him, there was no reason for these protests to occur at a time when Ivanka Trump and President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, chose to invest in Vlora.
"Now I completely agree that it is a non-transparent process, there are doubts about the property, there is no clarity about the project and financing. But is this the first time this has happened in Albania, or the 100,000th time? Why exactly when Ivanka Trump became interested is this process happening?" Spahiu continued.
