At the Hani i Hoti border crossing, the movement of heavy vehicles towards Montenegro has been interrupted, as a result of a 72-hour protest launched by the Montenegrin Truckers' Association, which began on April 14, 2026, at 09:30.
Currently, there are several trucks in the customs area waiting to cross the border, but so far there have been no reports of long queues or significant traffic problems.
The authorities inform that, for security reasons and to avoid possible blockages or incidents, the movement of trucks from Albania to Montenegro will not be allowed during this period. In the meantime, the circulation of small vehicles, buses, emergency vehicles and passenger transport will continue without interruption.
The reasons for the protest have not yet been made known, while it is recalled that in February, cross-border transport associations in the region protested against the new entry-exit rules in the Schengen area.
