Meeting with Brendan Hanrahan, why is SPAK silent?
Altin Dumani is the first Albanian official summoned to the State Department since Donald Trump took office. Rama lobbied hard for a high-level meeting, as did Berisha, but it seems the Americans decided to send a clear message.
However, there is much mystery surrounding Dumani's meeting with the Senior Officer of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, Brendan P. Hanrahan. What is known so far is that Dumani went to the US to attend the wedding of his wife's niece and something happened that caused him to be summoned to the State Department.
" Pamphlet " sent an email to the State Department, requesting more details about this meeting. DASH decided not to provide details. Meanwhile, there has also been a lack of information from SPAK. Neither officially nor informally, SPAK has preferred to provide details about why Dumani met with Brendan P. Hanrahan.
In a normal case, it should have been SPAK itself that would promote such a meeting. What makes it more suspicious is the fact that if the State Department had not published the agenda on its official website, this meeting would not have been announced. Also, the US embassy, which usually promotes SPAK prosecutors' meetings, has not reacted at all, adding to many doubts.
The visit is formally seen as US support for SPAK. So far, the Americans have not interfered in political and judicial affairs, but in recent weeks they have begun to move. Duman's mystical meeting has added to the fear in politics, as there are suspicions that he has received informal directives on where to strike and what the future of SPAK will be.
Do the Americans want to start a new campaign of political purges? Coincidentally, his visit comes at the same time as the Department of Justice published the report on the “McGonigal” case, which mentions the Albanian prime minister several times. Is there any connection to this? There is information darkness everywhere. However, we will have to wait a few more days to see if Dumani received directives to hit anyone, or if it was something else far from Albanian interest. /Pamphlet
