The Electoral College today rejected the Democratic Party's legal efforts regarding the May 11 election process, for irregularities and manipulation.
Lawyer Edmond Petraj, invited to "Tirana Live", described the lawsuits as entirely political and unfounded on solid evidence, emphasizing that the democrats have used this process as a tool to keep their structures engaged and to build a narrative for international use.
" This is a game that the DP has sought to make the process illegitimate, as if the elections were stolen. The lawsuit was all political, and the evidence was modified to claim that the solutions were irregular. It is a relationship that the DP did not expect anything, it is a game that the DP would lose because it was not based anywhere on evidence and legitimacy. The DP will use this as an international instrument, the part of the lawsuit because the DP says that it will not recognize the elections. It is a situation where the DP entered the elections unprepared, they did not campaign. They knew that there would be a result and it was an extraordinary situation. With this, they seek to keep their structures afloat. They failed in Tirana. They showed that the DP and the candidates who were in the game had taken each other's votes. The second challenge is now that they seek to maintain the international situation that elections are not being held here. The DP has shown once again that it has failed ," said the lawyer.
