The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has addressed the Constitutional Court regarding the decision of the Supreme Court, which deemed the security measure "prison arrest" as legal.
Meta, through lawyer Kujtim Cakrani, is requesting the Constitutional Court to release him from prison and repeal the current measure.
Renowned lawyer Romeo Kara, invited to "Ora e Fundit", said that all levels of the judiciary have so far confirmed that the arrest of Ilir Meta was legal.
During the studio discussion, lawyer Kara said that from the investigations being conducted by SPAK, the evidence that weighs heavily on Ilir Meta's positions may be strengthened.
"All levels of the trial did not find that the claim of Meta's side against the prosecution is valid, as they did not judge that this arrest is illegal. With the trend of the investigation, the evidence for the acts he committed can be strengthened. There is an in-depth investigation and evidence after evidence is emerging, cards are emerging, these are facts.
"These are not the fantasies of the prosecution, but they are evidence and testimony. We will have a long process. The evidence is there, the TIMS system, wiretapped phone calls. The prosecution has created convictions beyond reasonable doubt. The facts and evidence that show that he has committed serious crimes are more serious crimes than those of Berisha," he said.
He stressed that the investigations must prove whether Ilir Meta benefited from the cards used by his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi.
"Meta will answer if the cards brought him benefits. SPAK should take the law into its own hands and seize all his assets," he stressed,
