The trial of the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, and his ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi, is taking place this Wednesday at the GJKKO. Both are present in the courtroom.
During the hearing, Meta continued his self-defense, focusing on the CEZ-DIA case. He rejected the statements made by Dritan Prifti, describing them as untrue.
"I will make two additions to CEZ DIA. Dritan Prifti's lies are between us. He said that I was involved in CEZ DIA. There is an email that Ervis Mataj sent him on April 16. He wrote to the lawyer that this work of DIA is corrupt. Neither my name nor Berisha's name is mentioned. This Dritan Prifti says that "I never signed, I may have met him...", declared the former president.
Meta also mentioned the testimony of one of the former CEZ executives, Josef Heisek. According to him, Heisek stated in 2011 that he did not know Kastriot Ismailaj, while later he said that the introduction was made by Qazim Tepshi, the Albanian ambassador to the Czech Republic.
"In his testimony, Mr. Heisek in 2011 says:
I do not know the person who introduced me to CEZ DIA. Then, in 2014, he remembers that he introduced him to Qazim Tepshi. There were several companies, he said, and we received some data about DIA. What convinced us was the American DIA," Meta quotes.
According to evidence administered in the investigative files and in the arbitration, Qazim Tepshi, at the time the Albanian ambassador to the Czech Republic, was the person who introduced businessman Kastriot Ismailaj to the executives of the CEZ company in Prague.
Meta also disputed SPAK's claim regarding a 2009 message for the amount of "200 thousand." He said that there is no evidence that the message was sent by him and that such a thing is not in the file.
"Bring me the patronage that started it. It is very simple with the technology that has advanced to send such a message. I was in the opposition. It is impossible for me to send such a message about something that would happen 14 months later," Meta declared.
