Journalist Eni Ferhati commented on the opening of procedures for the election of the new head of SPAK, as Altin Dumani's mandate ends on December 19 of this year.
According to Ferhat, the law clearly stipulates that the procedures for electing a new leader begin three months before the end of the current mandate, while he mentioned several possible candidacies.
Ferhati believes that the race will mainly feature names that have competed before, while he mentioned the possibility of candidacies of prosecutors Kondili, Xholi and perhaps Vladimir Mara, who has done a good job in the section on the fight against organized crime.
On the other hand, Ferhati expressed skepticism about a possible candidacy of Olsi Dado.
" The Law on the Special Prosecution Office provides that the procedures should begin three months before the end of the mandate, thus leaving space to complete all procedures and that on December 19, when Mr. Dumani's mandate ends, we will have the new head of SPAK. Three months before the end of the mandate, on September 19, the competition will open, which will be open to all prosecutors. We can mention names that have previously run and are aspiring, such as Mr. Kondili, Adnan Xholi, Vladimir Mara who has investigated criminal organizations. It is not known whether Olsi Dado will have aspirations, seeing that he was initially assigned to SPAK and then received the appointment. If this time we do not have an ambassador like Kim who followed the process during Dumani's time, there will not be an ambassador close to the work of SPAK, but only one in charge of work. At the moment we have an unclear scenario, but soon we will have the first platforms and expressions of interest from prosecutors. Maybe "We will do a more detailed analysis based on the work barometer and the support that the candidates have from their colleagues in SPAK, but I believe that there will be other factors that will influence the election of the new head of SPAK ," Ferhati said on the show "NOW with Erla Mëhillin."
