MP Evis Kushi has asked the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, questions regarding the physical security of the Special Prosecution's personnel.
Braho responded that there have been cases where additional security measures have been requested for some prosecutors, but he cannot provide more details due to the nature of the case.
Regarding the security of the institution, Braho said that the SPAK building and personnel are protected by the Republic Guard and that cooperation with this institution has been continuous.
Excerpts from the question and answer session:
Kushi : The physical security of personnel is a concern that has been raised by SPAK itself and is included in the EU report on the rule of law, which cites two letters sent by you to the State Police and the Ministry of Interior. Have your requests been met by the responsible institutions? Have your concerns and requests for the physical security of personnel been addressed? Do you have a permanent security plan for staff? How many requests have you made for additional security measures and how many of them have been met?
Braho : You are referring to a case that does not have to do with the personal security of the personnel, but with the external perimeter of the institution, which is the duty of the State Police. Prosecutors are protected by the Garda and we have not had any problems. They have been a supportive institution in this regard. There have been cases when we have requested additional protection measures for some prosecutors. I cannot give details, but what I can say is that our requests have been supported.
