The head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, commented on the legal situation of former President Ilir Meta and former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, emphasizing that he does not give positions on specific issues that are still under investigation or judicial process.
Asked by MP Elda Hoti about the reasons why Ilir Meta continues to be held in prison, while Sali Berisha is obliged to appear twice a month at the Prosecutor's Office, Braho responded that every person against whom criminal proceedings are being conducted has the right to pursue legal avenues to challenge the security measures.
"All your questions are related to specific issues and I have no comment. Whoever is prosecuted has the right to object in court and take the case to higher courts ," he declared.
Regarding allegations of affairs involving Prime Minister Edi Rama, the head of SPAK reiterated that every accusation must be supported by evidence and referred to the competent authorities.
"Regarding the Prime Minister's interventions, if you have evidence, present it to the competent body. What I am saying is that everyone is equal before the law," Braho said.
When asked about the issue of construction in Kurbin, he announced that criminal proceedings are still ongoing.
"Regarding the issue of construction in Kurbin, it is a matter under investigation," he said.
