Rozeta Dobi, convicted of stealing a significant amount of money from the apartment of former senior official Alda Klosi, was released this Wednesday from the women's prison in Pojska, after benefiting from the recently approved criminal amnesty.
Dobi became known to the public in early 2023, when she was arrested on charges of stealing 120 thousand euros, 30 thousand US dollars, and valuables from Alda Klos' apartment, where she had worked as a cleaner for several years.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that the proceeds from the theft were even greater. During a search of Dobit's apartment, police seized 404,000 euros, 8,500 US dollars, and gold jewelry hidden in the suction tube. They also seized 58,150 euros, 7,000 dollars, 368,000 lek, and three vehicles, two of which were suspected of having been purchased with the proceeds from the theft.
The case received wide public attention not only because of the large sums of money seized, but also because of the investigations that were conducted into the source of this money. After serving part of her sentence, Rozeta Dobi was released from prison, benefiting from a criminal amnesty.
