As the Democratic Party is expected to convene its National Council today, where the reformation of the blue party's leadership structure will be formalized, former candidate for MP in the May 11 elections, Ilirjana Kuçana, has sent a message to the members of the party's highest leadership forum.
Through a post on social media, Kuçana calls on members of the National Council to vote according to their conscience and in accordance with the Statute of the Democratic Party, inviting them not to be influenced by messages about how to vote.
She refers directly to the Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, asking the Democrats not to take instructions from him.
"Today you have the responsibility to vote according to your conscience and statute, not according to orders. The phenomenon of 'Mulism' does not convey hope and optimism for democrats. They expect renewal, meritocracy and a new spirit ," Kuçana writes.
Further, she appeals to the members of the National Council to make decisions with the interests of the Democrats in mind.
"Don't take orders from Muli. Take responsibility before the Democrats and vote with your heart, because your decision today will determine tomorrow's trust in the Democratic Party," says Kuçana.
Her statement comes a few minutes before the meeting of the National Council, which is expected to elect the Secretary General, vice-chairmen and heads of the secretariats of the Democratic Party, in a process that will determine the new composition of the opposition's leadership.
