The head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, stated that the Special Prosecution Office does not consider any suspended file as definitively closed, emphasizing that investigations are resumed whenever new evidence is obtained or opportunities arise to identify the perpetrators.

During his report to the Committee on Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight, Braho stated that even in cases where a person is declared wanted, criminal proceedings are not interrupted and investigations continue.

"If a person is wanted, the case continues to be investigated. We do not have any exact data on the number, but there are also cases returned after a case was suspended. No case can be called 'dead'. Organized crime often has perpetrators who are not identified," he said.

Braho also focused on financial investigations, announcing that SPAK is closely monitoring assets originating from criminal activity outside Albania.

According to him, in recent years a change has been observed in the way criminal groups administer illegal profits, avoiding their transfer to Albania and distributing them to other countries.

"For assets abroad, the trend of Albanian citizens involved in activities abroad is to bring the proceeds of crime to Albania. Recently, they have started to distribute them, not bring them to Albania. Such is a 12.7 million euro asset, which is an example. There are other cases, but I cannot speak at the moment," stated the head of SPAK.
