Journalist Klodiana Lala has provided details regarding the assassination attempt that occurred yesterday evening in Elbasan, where 43-year-old Mondi Mëhalla was killed. She said that today the dynamics of what happened have become clearer and that everything started from security camera footage.
According to Lala, the suspected perpetrator, who is thought to be just one person, waited until Mahalla, also known as Edmond Hyka, left his office and got into the car parked near a gas station owned by him.
He further added that as the businessman entered the vehicle, the hooded perpetrator approached him and shot him six times with a pistol-type weapon. Five of the bullets hit the victim, three in the body and two in the head, causing his immediate death, while one bullet ended up in the car. After the act, the perpetrator left in an "Audi" vehicle, which was found burned a few hours later in a village in Librazhd.
" In fact, there have been many reports about the incident in question. Today, the dynamics of what happened are clearer, also based on security camera footage. It turns out that an Audi type vehicle that was found burned today in a village in Librazhd, which is owned by one of the victim's own companies, namely Mond Mahalla, was used by the suspected perpetrator of the incident, who is thought to be only one person. The person waited until Mond Mahalla or Edmond Hyka, because he has both names, came down from his office, where he actually stayed most of the time.
At the moment he got off at his vehicle that he had parked near the gas station, because it should be noted that businessman Mahalla owned the Xhaxhi Oil gas station and the taxi stand or taxi company El Taksi or Elbasan Taksi. At the moment he got off, the Audi type vehicle approached him and at one point a person appears on the camera who, according to the footage, gets off from the driver's seat, he has a hood on his head that makes it impossible to tell who this person is and approaches Edmond Hyka's seat because he was, well, starting the car because he had just gotten in.
Apparently, he tried to walk back in the car, but was shot, so the suspected perpetrator shot him with a pistol-type weapon six times. Five bullets hit him, three in the body and two in the head, and one bullet went, it was found in the vehicle. And then he left to burn the vehicle. So this is the dynamics of the event that happened in a few, in a few minutes.
"Now the fact that the vehicle was owned by Mondi's own companies, Mondi Mahalla, has somehow diverted or oriented the investigation group to call and question all the company's employees and all the partners or former partners of Mondi Mahalla and to see if they have business conflicts or not ," Lala said on the show "TëPaekspozuarit".
