The EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, has spoken out about the comments and insults directed at him by various political figures. The latest attack was that of the leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, Sali Berisha, who spoke about the ambassador's sexual orientation.
Speaking about this, Gonzato criticized Berisha, saying that people who are left in oblivion see insults as the only way out of that situation.
Excerpt from the interview:

There are people whose only way out of oblivion, and who have been left in oblivion because they are no longer relevant, their only way out of this is to make offensive comments. Because nowadays, unfortunately, this kind of attitude causes reactions and thus makes them relevant again. Honestly, I don't have time for them. I really don't care. I have nothing to say. I am fine with myself and I don't need to justify myself in any way. When people criticize my professional competence, when they say that I am not doing my job properly...
