The National Conference on Tourism "Adriatic 2026" was held in Tirana, a forum dedicated to strengthening standards and increasing security in the tourism sector, attended by representatives of institutions responsible for the supervision and development of tourism in the country.
During the event, the head of the General Chief Inspectorate, Dashnor Sula, emphasized that the continuous growth of tourism in Albania is accompanied by greater responsibilities for public institutions. According to him, guaranteeing quality services, security for citizens and tourists, as well as respecting the legal and environmental framework remain essential elements for the sustainable development of the sector.
The discussions focused on some of the main challenges facing tourism, including food safety and public health, environmental and territorial protection, market surveillance, respect for workers' rights, and the fight against informality.
Participants highlighted the need for a more modern approach to inspection, based on risk analysis, problem prevention and close inter-institutional coordination. According to them, increasing the efficiency of controls is directly related to strengthening cooperation between institutions and the timely exchange of information.
Another issue addressed during the conference was the digitalization of administrative processes, considered an important instrument for increasing transparency and improving public services in the tourism sector.
Within the framework of the European integration process, participants reiterated the importance of approximation with European Union standards and their implementation in practice, with the aim of building a safer, more sustainable and more competitive tourism sector.
The conference closed with a call for continued cooperation between institutions and stakeholders in the sector, emphasizing that the development of quality and safe tourism requires joint commitment and continuous coordination at all levels.
