With only two hours left until the end of the qualifying period to become part of the race for the election of the chairman of the Democratic Party, Evi Kokalari, QSUT doctor Mereme Sela, and lawyer Alesia Balliu have presented their candidacies today at the blue headquarters.
Doctor Mereme Sela personally filed her candidacy at the DP headquarters.
Sela, in a statement to the media, said that she is a pure, immaculate figure and has health and education as pillars of her program.
"I am one of the people with the right background to run for the head of the DP. Why did I get 43 votes in the primary? I was the only one who told the group to gather in front of the membership and present the program, such a thing has not been done. I have read the criteria and I meet them. I have a lot of respect for the doctor, if the membership is interested in a clean, unblemished figure, it is me. The two main pillars are health and education," said Sela.
Meanwhile, Evi Kokalari stated that she submitted the documentation to become part of the competition, but they did not accept her.
"At 9:30 AM, my lawyer in Tirana went to the DP headquarters to submit the application file and the guard did not let him in, but communicated to him, after speaking to someone inside, that: "we do not accept envelopes." Meanwhile, the lawyer made it clear that it is my application. We will start it with DHL and send it to those who need it, via text and email before the deadline. Clowns!!!", she wrote.
Alesia Balliu also submitted the documents, through an authorized person.
Former MP Ervin Salianji has also formalized his candidacy for the leadership of the Democratic Party, as he today filed his candidacy for the leadership of the largest opposition party in the country, facing Sali Berisha.
According to the instruction, the criteria for candidates for Chairman of the DPA are:
-Member of the Democratic Party, a figure with a very high public and political profile, with at least 10 years of political and electoral engagement in the Democratic Party;
-To have leadership experience at the national/regional level in the political battles of the Democratic Party, for civic and political causes;
-To meet the eligibility criteria according to Law No. 138/2015 'On guaranteeing the integrity of persons elected, appointed or exercising public functions'.
