Today at 20:00, at the "Air Albania" stadium in Tirana, a friendly football match between the national teams of Albania and Luxembourg will take place. In the framework of this sporting event, the State Police has made public the plan of measures to guarantee order and security before, during and after the match.
According to the official announcement, starting from 5:00 PM until the end of the match, in cooperation with the Tirana Municipal Police, temporary traffic restrictions will be applied on several road axes near the stadium.
Roads that will be blocked:
“Martyrs of the Nation” Boulevard, from “Rogner” Hotel towards “Mother Teresa” Square;
“Papa John Paul II” Street, at the intersection of RTSH;
“Dervish Hima” Street, near the US Embassy;
“Asim Zeneli” Street, near the US Embassy;
“Themistokle Gërmenji” Street, at its entrance;
“Ismail Qemali” Street, at the intersection of RTSH;
"Lekë Dukagjini" Street, near the former Republic Guard, which will serve as an entrance corridor for vehicles authorized by the AFF;
“Abdyl Frashëri” Street, near the intersection of Libri Universitari;
The "Willson" square area, where traffic will be diverted towards "Sami Frashëri" street shortly before the end of the match.
The police announce that Elbasani Street, the Ring Road and "Bajram Curri" Boulevard will remain open to vehicle traffic.
In accordance with the security plan, State Police officers will conduct detailed checks on fans before entering the stadium. The checks aim to prevent the introduction of prohibited items, such as banners with racist content, fireworks, flares, pyrotechnics, metal coins, umbrellas, lighters, phone chargers, cosmetic products and other objects that may endanger the safety of participants.
Fans will enter the stadium at 6:00 p.m. For the smooth running of the event, the State Police has deployed a significant number of police officers to ensure order and security.
