The lack of interest in the Club World Cup in the United States has not discouraged FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who believes that football will soon become the most popular sport overseas.
" In three, four years or maximum five years, soccer will be the most practiced sport in the United States of America ," said the 55-year-old. After the skepticism shown by journalists, Infantino also gave the reason for his conviction.
" My presence here makes me convinced that within a few years football will be the most popular sport in the US ," said the Swiss, putting aside modesty.
