The World Cup atmosphere continues to dominate the attention of sports fans around the world, with matches that have brought excitement, surprises, and numerous discussions about the teams competing for the trophy.
Invited to the "Sport Focus" show on "Ora News", the former legendary captain of the Albanian National Team, Rudi Vata, focused on the teams that have stood out so far, emphasizing that this edition has reserved quite a few surprises.
" Surprises have not been lacking in this World Cup. There are teams that have shown a very good level of play and have surprised with their performances ," said Vata.
According to him, one of the teams that has attracted attention is Mexico, which has shown dynamism in the game and has also benefited from the great support of the fans.
" Mexico is one of the teams that has impressed. They have quality players, a high pace of play and a fan base that gives the team a lot of motivation ," said the former Rossoneri captain.
However, Vata stressed that the group stage is not always the ultimate indicator of a national team's strength, recalling the example of Italy in the 1982 World Cup.
" The history of football has shown that teams can start with difficulty and then be declared champions. Italy in 1982 got through the group stage with three draws and in the end won the trophy ," he declared.
As for the main contenders for the title, Vata singled out two national teams.
" Today, Argentina and Spain are the teams to beat. They play the most dominant and efficient football. Any team aiming for the trophy has to go through them ," he said.
In his analysis, the former defender also commented on Germany's results, rejecting the idea that losses could be part of a strategy.
" The German mentality does not accept defeat as a tactical calculation. They do not enter the field to save energy. When they lose, they accept that the opponent was better ," concluded Rudi Vata.
