Granit Xhaka's statements and actions in the match against Kosovo were not well received by Albanian fans in Kosovo and Albania.
"The first half was probably the best we've played in a long time. If we had played at the same pace in the second half, the score could have been 6-0 or 7-0. Kosovo wasn't weak, but we were in a very good condition."
To "soften" it up a bit, the brother of Sunderland midfielder Taulant Xhaka thought, posting a statement from Granit after the match:
“ The whole world knows that I am fully Albanian. However, I celebrated the goals because I represent Switzerland .” Taulant, unlike Granit, chose to represent Albania in the European football arena, despite having the opportunity to follow in his brother's footsteps.
