Igor Tudor and the Juventus technical staff face an important decision regarding Edon Zhegrova's availability before the big match against Inter, which will take place on September 13.
Zhegrova, 26, was finally transferred from Lille on the final day of the transfer window and has yet to be reunited with Jonathan David, his former teammate at the French team, who previously joined Turin. Currently, Zhegrova trains at the Kontinasa sports center, along with the rest of the squad, except for those called up by their national teams. His absence from the Kosovo national team was not a surprise, as the player has not participated in an official match since December last year. According to “Tuttosport”, the striker’s availability for the match against Inter remains uncertain, due to a nine-month period of health problems. Zhegrova chose to undergo surgery due to pain in his groin, preferring surgical intervention to avoid long-term problems in his career.
Despite recently resuming training, he has not played any minutes this season at Lille, where the club did not have him in their plans as they expected the player to leave. Tudor and his technical staff will carefully monitor Zhegrova's reaction to the training load over the coming days to decide whether he will be included in the lineup for the Derby d'Italia. If the situation does not allow for his full use, Zhegrova's return to the field may be postponed to a more suitable time.
The striker is expected to compete for a place on the right wing of the attack with Francisco Conceicao, who himself suffered a minor injury during the match against Genoa. In this way, the choices for the position on the right wing of the attack will depend on the physical condition of both players. The coach's final decision will be based mainly on the progress and health of Zhegrova during training. Meanwhile, as for the attack, unlike expected, Vlahovic did not leave Turin, with the player vetoing it, preferring not to leave important football.
