Ukraine-Albania friendly, Sylvinho: There will be 2-3 changes in the lineup

Five days after the defeat in Poland, which ended hopes of qualifying for the World Cup, the Albanian national football team returns to the field this evening for a friendly match against Ukraine, which will take place at the Valencia stadium.

As announced in the press conference, coach Sylvinho is expected to make some changes to the lineup, given that this is a friendly match. Strakosha is expected to be confirmed in goal, while Cake and Gjimshiti will be in the center of defense.

Hysaj is expected to play on the right wing of defense, while Pilon is expected on the left. No changes are expected in the midfield, with Laçi, Shehu and Asllani forming the main trio.

The biggest changes are expected in attack, where Anis Mehmeti could be activated on the right wing, while Arbër Hoxha on the left. At the top of the attack, the runoff between Broja and Uzun continues, with the latter looking more favored for a starting spot.

The Brazilian coach himself described this challenge as an opportunity to test players who have had less space, but he also emphasized the importance of the result even in friendly matches.

"I don't believe that 6-7 or 8 changes should be made. It is an opportunity to give minutes to players who have played less, but the team must remain organized as in every previous match. We can make 2-3 changes from the match with Poland," said Sylvinho, national team coach.

Even captain Berat Gjimshiti has focused on the loss to Poland, emphasizing that it should not diminish the team's entire journey in the qualifiers. According to him, the team must react starting with the match against Ukraine.

"We have in mind the match with Ukraine that we lost a while ago. It is at the same level as us, Poland, Sweden, the team that was in the final four. It should be evaluated as an opponent. We are upset but the more time passes, we have to come back stronger. Let's take something positive from this match ," said team captain Berat Gjimshiti.

Meanwhile, this match could be Sylvinho's last in charge of the national team, as his contract expires in July. UEFA has appointed a panel of referees from Spain for this match, with Juan Martinez Munuera as the main referee.
