Over 1.5 million fans apply for tickets, extraordinary interest for the 2026

Interest in attending the 2026 World Cup is at an all-time high. So far, over 1.5 million fans from 210 different countries have registered to participate in the first phase of ticket sales.

The United States, Mexico and Canada, the three host countries of the tournament, lead the list in terms of the number of applications, followed by passionate fans in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, England, Spain, Portugal and Germany. The pre-sale ticket draw is the first step in securing a ticket for this historic event. Registration will close on September 19.

All applicants have an equal chance of being selected, regardless of when they register during this period. Randomly selected winners will be notified by email starting September 29th, and will receive a specific date and time to complete their ticket purchase, subject to availability, with the purchase process beginning October 1st.

Fans will be able to buy tickets for the group stage with prices starting at $60. FIFA has announced that ticket sales will continue in October, giving fans more opportunities to secure their place at the world's biggest football tournament. 

Nine months after the opening ceremony of the World Cup, 18 of the 48 teams that will participate have qualified. In addition to the host nations, next year's World Cup will feature Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Uruguay, Brazil and Paraguay from South America. Iran, Uzbekistan, Jordan, South Korea, Japan and Australia from Asia. From Africa, Morocco and Tunisia, while New Zealand represents Oceania.

Uzbekistan and Jordan will be debuting for the first time in an important event like the World Cup.
