Cagliari are in talks with Roma to sign Marash Kumbulla. They had targeted him in the last transfer window but then failed to pursue him. This could be the right time.
The player's potential value remains to be seen. Roma would have to sell him outright, with one year remaining on his contract, having paid around €26m in the summer of 2021. He has a buyout clause of €5m, which therefore forms the basis of the deal. Gasperini has already given the green light to the possibility of a transfer. In four seasons, Kumbulla has made 69 appearances for Roma, plus two loan spells, one at Sassuolo and another at Espanyol.
The Spanish club would also like him to return after a season in La Liga where he made 35 appearances and scored three goals.
