The coach of the national team, Sylvinho, explained at the conference the choices made for the European list. In his speech, the red and black technician thanked all those who helped the National Team to qualify for Euro 2024, but added that this list was selected based on the long study process that was done to the players.
" I must say that it is a pride that I am the coach of the Albanian national team that will go to Euro 2024. As for me and the staff, I would like to thank all those who have made a journey with all of us so far. My respect to all of them. Our selection is based on a lot of study, analysis, individual and collective characteristics of each player and each scenario that we will encounter in the competition.
It's the manager's responsibility to pick the players and unfortunately I can't get everyone. I tried to do my best, I devoted all my efforts for the best of the team. We play for 3 million Albanians who play here and more than 10 million around the world ," he said.
As for Berisha and Abrashi, he said that they are two talented players whom he has been following for a long time and who can give a lot in this European tournament.
" As for Berisha and Abrash, I am saying two words. We also saw Spain's list, we saw that de La Fuente made difficult choices. Abrashi is the best player, he is the only midfielder who played in the European 2016 from the list. We have been following Medon Berisha for a long time, a talented player. I also appreciate the work done by U21, as we had in the case of Mitaj. I think that Berisha can be ready for the big national team" , he said.
