Ernest Muçi will continue to be part of Trabzonspor's long-term project, as the Turkish club has decided to reward him for his impressive performances during the last season.
According to Turkish sports daily "Fanatik", the parties had previously reached a preliminary agreement, which has now been formalized through a new long-term contract. The Albanian striker will receive a salary of 2.5 million euros per season, excluding taxes that apply in Turkey.
The new deal foresees a three-year contract, with the option to extend for an additional year. If Trabzonspor activates the renewal option, Muç's salary could increase to 2.75 million euros per year.
The club's faith in the Albanian footballer has been evident even earlier in the transfer window. Trabzonspor invested 9.5 million euros in his transfer, a figure that was considered a historic record for the Turkish club.
After the transfer, Muçi managed to impose his values in Turkish football. Although the start of the season was not at the expected levels, he responded with excellent performances, ending the season with 15 goals and 9 assists in all competitions, statistics that represent the best season of his career.
In the Turkish Super League, the striker scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists, while in the Turkish Cup he contributed with 4 goals and 5 assists. His contribution was also decisive in the team's journey towards winning the trophy.
With the form he has shown and the trust he is receiving from the club, Ernest Muçi is considered one of the main pillars of the Trabzonspor project, while expectations for next season remain high.
