Kylian Mbappe is ready to start his career on the playing field, with his long-time dream club, Real Madrid. But the French striker also wants to be involved on an entrepreneurial level. And this is where his last sensational move came from.
The authoritative French newspaper "Le Parisien" has published the news that the French striker is ready to invest in the Caen club.
The newly transferred footballer to Real Madrid will invest around 15 million euros through his investment fund "Coalition Capital" to buy 80% of the club's capital and also pay off part of the debt.
Mbape will replace the previous majority shareholder, American investment fund Oaktree, which bought 80% of the club's shares in 2020. The remaining 20% of the capital is held by Pierre Antoine Capton, the current president of the supervisory board.
Caen finished sixth in Ligue 2 last season and their former players include Mbappe's France team-mate N'Golo Kante and ex-Les Blues defender William Gallas.
The two-time champions of the second division, founded in 1913, start the championship by hosting Paris Football Club on August 17.
