Italy has hit rock bottom. One of the most popular national teams in the world is currently without a coach, is in danger of not participating in a third consecutive World Cup, and what's more, there doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel for them.
After Spalletti's dismissal, the "Azzurri" turned their eyes to Claudio Ranieri, hoping that he would perform the next miracle. But in the end he decided to say "no", preferring to continue his work at the Roma club, where he will be an advisor to president Fridkin.
But he was not the only one. Italian media reports that the Italian Federation has also contacted Stefano Pioli to give him the leadership of the national team. The latter has also refused, making his situation clear. Pioli is currently under contract with the Arabs of Al Nasr. However, he is expected to leave this club soon and return to Italy.
Pioli said "yes" in principle to Fiorentina and explained that he did not want to go against his word, thus rejecting the opportunity to manage Italy.
