Granit Xhaka is set to return to England, this time not to Arsenal, but to Sunderland. According to British media, Granit Xhaka has informed Bayer Leverkusen that he only wants to move to Sunderland this summer.
It is reported that the Albanian captain of Switzerland has reached a personal agreement with Sunderland, while talks between the two clubs are still ongoing. Xhaka has urged Leverkusen to close the deal as soon as possible.
There is also interest in Xhaka from Milan and Inter, as this move seems surprising for him.
"We have reached an agreement in principle with Sunderland," Xhaka's agent, Jose Noguera, told Sky in Germany.
"Granit wants to return to the Premier League. Sunderland excites him, he wants to take on this challenge. We hope that Leverkusen will respect his wish to leave and that the clubs will find an agreement soon," he continued.
