Lionel Messi has given a lengthy interview after the match in Dallas, where Argentina secured another important victory and the Argentine star scored twice. With this performance, Messi reached five goals in this edition of the tournament and 18 in total in World Cup history.

The Argentina captain appeared before reporters more than two and a half hours after the match ended, speaking to media representatives from around the world. In his statements, he appeared calm and free from pressure, reflecting on the team's success and his personal journey.

" We have fun together, that's our secret. We like to be together, play together and win together ," Messi declared, underlining the positive atmosphere that reigns in the Argentine national team.

According to him, additional motivation for the team remains the extraordinary support of the fans.

" We also do it for our people. Those in Argentina live and suffer for the team. I know they watch the game in schools, at work. Even those who come here make sacrifices. We feel an obligation to give them joy again ," he said.

Asked if Argentina is fed up after their World Cup triumph in Qatar, Messi dismissed any doubts.

" Despite what people say, this team has nothing left to prove. They have shown for years that they never give up. But we want to win again. That's what we're here for ," said the Argentine captain.

Commenting on the main rivals in the competition, such as France, Spain and Brazil, Messi stressed that the team's focus remains solely on its performances.

" We are only thinking about ourselves. We know it is more difficult than last time, but we are taking it game by game. We are a family ," he declared.

Messi also spoke about the support he has received from his family throughout his career.

" I have a great group of teammates and I'm very grateful. My children now understand better what's going on. Without my family, Antonela, the children and my father, I wouldn't have gotten here ," he said.

Regarding the missed penalty in the match, the striker admitted that he was not satisfied with the execution, but stressed that the most important thing remains the team's victory.

" Yes, it was a bad shot. I was angry with myself, but I managed to compensate. The most important thing is the team's victory ," said Messi.

Reflecting on his career, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner said he feels grateful for everything he has experienced in football.

" It's been a long career, with beautiful things and difficult things. I'm grateful for everything. But it's not over yet ," he declared.

Messi also denied any idea that his level has dropped after moving to the United States.

" I have never stopped competing to win. I don't think about age. One day my body will tell me to stop, but that day has not come yet ," concluded the Argentina captain.
