Chelsea beats Nottingham and moves closer to the top, Angle Postecoglu risks

The Premier League kicked off its eighth week this Saturday. At the 'City Ground', Nottingham Forest's home team were defeated 0-3 by Chelsea. If you look at the result alone, it would seem like an easy three points for the 'Blues', but on the pitch things were not simple.

It was Nottingham who had control of the game in the first half, missing several chances to score. Chelsea, with Maresca in the stands, were lucky not to suffer and the first half ended with the nets untouched.

At the start of the second half, specifically in the 49th minute, a pass from Pedro Neto was headed by 19-year-old Acheampong and stopped in the net. With the euphoria of the goal, Chelsea looked to attack and found the second goal. This time Pedro Neto stopped the ball in the net himself.

Nottingham were surprised and the home team was shocked by the two goals conceded, so much so that president Evangelos Marinakis left the stands. The home team hit the post twice during a drive, but the ball was not destined to end in the net.

In the 84th minute, Reece James had to 'seal' the 0-3 success and send the 'Blues' to fourth place on 14 points, two less than leaders Arsenal who have a game in hand. In the end, there was also room for Malo Gusto's red card, with Chelsea ending with ten players.

As for Nottingham, the future of coach Ange Postecoglou is in question and a dismissal would not be a surprise. With just five points after eight matches, Nottingham remains in 17th place, unable to 'copy' last season which was surprising.
