Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey has officially announced his retirement from professional football. The decision was made public through a press release, in which he emphasizes that it is a long-thought-out step.
" It is not an easy decision to make, but after much reflection I have decided to retire from football ," his statement said.
Ramsey had been without a team since the end of his contract with Mexican club Pumas UNAM.
During his career, the 35-year-old has worn the jerseys of several well-known clubs such as Cardiff City, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Juventus, Rangers and Nice, where he has played 551 matches in total, scored 80 goals and provided 75 assists.
At national level, he represented Wales at major competitions, including the 2022 World Cup, the 2016 and 2021 European Championships.
