
Inter secured a convincing 5-2 victory over AS Roma, in a match worthy of Serie A. The Blues started the match briskly, taking the lead in the first minute through Lautaro Martinez, after an assist from Marcus Thuram.
Roma responded in the 40th minute, when Gianluca Mancini equalized to make it 1-1, but the visitors' advantage was short-lived. In first-half stoppage time, Hakan Calhanoglu restored Inter's lead, ending the first 45 minutes with a 2-1 score.
The second half was all about the home team. Lautaro Martinez scored the third goal in the 52nd minute, again with an assist from Thuram, while just three minutes later it was Thuram himself who scored for 4-1 after a combination with Calhanoglu. Inter's dominance continued and in the 63rd minute Nicolo Barella extended the lead to 5-1, practically ending the match.
Roma managed to reduce the deficit in the 70th minute through Lorenzo Pellegrini, but were unable to really get back into the game.
With this result, Inter strengthens its position in first place with 72 points, while Roma remains in last place with 54 points.
