Lucescu's health condition worsens, former Inter coach ends up in a coma

The health condition of Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu has deteriorated overnight and he is in intensive care at the University Hospital of Bucharest.

Doctors have placed the 80-year-old in a pharmacological coma after recent complications. Two days ago, while preparing to leave the hospital after a health problem that arose during a technical meeting, he suffered a heart attack. The medical team intervened immediately and performed three resuscitation procedures.

Lucescu then suffered another cardiac episode. Doctors managed to revive him through emergency interventions. Despite his condition, he was on the bench in the semi-final of the World Cup play-offs, where his team was defeated by Turkey. The elimination from the competition also led to the termination of cooperation with the national team.

The Romanian Football Federation reacted publicly, stressing that at this moment only the fight for his life matters and expressing support for the coach. Lucescu remains in intensive care, while doctors continue to monitor his condition.
