After the European Super Cup, which was played in Udine, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin spoke about the growth of Italian football. However, he did not spare criticism about the state of the stadiums, making a harsh comment.
He called the football infrastructure in Italy "terrible."
" Despite some unsatisfactory results for the Italian national team, I think football here is growing as a movement and that Gabriele Gravina is doing a great job. The league is increasingly interesting ," Ceferin said.
" Serie A is among the five best leagues in the world. In fact, my favorite is the Italian one. But, to be honest and I'm not exaggerating when I say that the infrastructure in Italy is terrible ," Ceferin added.
In the end, the UEFA president sounded an alarm bell for Italian football, which also aims to organize a European Championship: " There is something that needs to be done urgently in this regard, both by the government and by the municipalities ."
