Alvaro Morata missed a penalty for Spain in the Nations League final against Portugal, which handed the Portuguese the trophy.
The Spanish striker received threats on social media, but the worst thing is that the perpetrator addressed death threats to the striker's children. As reported in "gazzetta.it", a 19-year-old from Malaga has threatened the life of the Spanish striker and his children on social media. But he has already fallen into police custody.
Spanish authorities explained how, two days after the Munich match, the young man went to the provincial police station in Malaga to report the theft of his personal social media account, ironically the same one from which the insults had started, and not just against Morata. Investigators did not take long to find inconsistencies in his story and immediately discovered the truth, namely that it was a futile attempt to create an alibi.
The evidence actually showed that he was the culprit, and as explained by the Spanish police:
" These behaviors have become the norm in some areas, such as sports, favored by the anonymity guaranteed by social media and the speed with which they spread. Of course, this phenomenon must be strongly condemned and has nothing to do with the spirit of sport, in which sometimes you win and sometimes you lose ."
