Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti is expected to renew his contract with the Brazilian national team, although he has been in charge for less than a year and the results so far have not been considered convincing.
According to ESPN sources, the new deal is almost complete and has the approval of both parties. Representatives of the Brazilian Federation have confirmed that the details have been discussed earlier and the contract is only expected to be formalized after the end of the friendly matches.
" We discussed it in detail, we spoke before leaving Brazil and we agreed that after the friendly matches we would sign the new agreement ," said Samir Chaud from the Brazilian Federation.
Ancelotti himself has hinted that there are no obstacles to continuing the cooperation. "The federation has no problems renewing and neither do I. I don't think we will have any problems," he declared.
According to the same sources, the Italian coach, who currently has a contract until the end of the 2026 World Cup, is expected to extend the agreement until 2030. The new contract provides for a 2+2 formula, giving the parties the option to terminate the cooperation after two years.
Ancelotti will continue to be the highest-paid coach in the history of the Brazilian national team, with an annual salary of around 10 million euros. The main objective remains to build a competitive team for the next World Cup.
