An emotional and shocking moment occurred on the show "She's On Top", where 22-year-old model Marigona Halilaj tearfully recounted the tragic story of her life.
The young woman from Gjilan touched the audience and the jury as she revealed that at the age of 2 and a half she lost her father, who was killed by her mother to save the children's lives.
According to Marigona, the father exercised extreme violence in the family and had become a constant threat to their lives.
"Mom was forced to do it to save us. Dad wanted to kill his brother with a knife, then all of us. He had no choice but to protect us."
She confessed that her mother had reported the violence to the police several times and had asked her to leave her husband, but the institutions had not reacted in time. The tragedy occurred in June 2005, when the father, armed with a knife, attempted to commit a massacre in the family.
"Mom herself surrendered to the police. Then, the state took us into custody. But the other women my father had been married to, and his children, also supported my mother. They all sent a letter to the court to request her release."
Marigona said that even though she grew up amidst suffering and deprivation, her mother has always been her greatest pillar and support.
"She's very supportive. She believes in me a lot. I even took her with me to the first auditions for 'She's On Top.'"
