Britney Spears' memoir 'The Woman In Me' is to be turned into a film. Universal Pictures won the rights to the book in a bidding war nearly a year after it hit bookstores, with "Wicked" director Jonathan Murray Chou and producer Marc Platt said to be the frontrunners to join the film.
The news was confirmed by the American singer on social networks.
"Excited to share with my fans that I'm working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt," she wrote. “He has always made my favorite movies… stay tuned.”
The book 'The Woman In Me' has been a huge success since its release and has sold over 2.5 million copies in the US alone and one million copies worldwide in its first week in bookstores. The memoir includes a number of important revelations from her career and relationships and the 13-year period her father took custody of her.
The singer has hinted that a second volume with her memoirs is expected to be published.
