Intense debates have engulfed the Kosovo Assembly following the Democratic Party of Kosovo's (PDK) proposal for a resolution aimed at protecting the truth about the 1989–1999 war, against the backdrop of controversy over an exhibition with inaccurate accounts of the massacres.
PDK requested that this issue be treated as a priority, proposing that the resolution be placed as the first item on the agenda. However, due to the lack of support from other parties, this initiative was not accepted.
As a result, PDK decided to withdraw the proposal and leave the Assembly hall, deepening political tensions.
On the other hand, the Vetëvendosje Movement argued that such a document requires broader political consensus and that the text of the resolution should be harmonized with all entities before being put to a vote.
Meanwhile, several international agreements that require a qualified two-thirds majority were also on the agenda. The departure of the PDK has called their approval into question.
