Journalist Mentor Nazarko says that Vjosa Osmani's role in Kosovo politics is related to that of Euro-Atlantic orientation.
According to him, Osmani saved Kurti from being non grata in the USA.
"In my opinion, Osman's affirmation was a minimal bluff, but effectively a real chess move to tell Mr. Kurti, 'why don't you want Osman'? What is Osman? Why does he reject Osman? Osman is someone who has preserved the Euro-Atlantic axis of Kosovo. An axis that the prime minister has probably tried to shift at times. He has also saved Mr. Kurti from being declared 'non grata' by the United States of America. There is such a rumor. He has offered him the opportunity to have elections on December 28. So, he has done him many services, he has functioned as an excellent tandem, but at the same time he has also prevented him from appointing only people who come from one political current to the Constitutional Court, in diplomacy, in justice," he said when invited to the show "Off the Record".
In the same speech, Nazarko also addressed the role of the opposition in the current political situation.
"In my opinion, the opposition has not played well. The greatest responsibility lies with the one who has the majority and he is immorally exploiting the advantages he has because of the majority. What is more serious is that the image of Kosovo is of a country that is unable to compromise internally, let alone compromise externally. It is the image of an immature state and this happens when the world does not care at all about what is happening in Kosovo or the Balkans. So, I think that in this situation the responsibility lies with both sides. The opposition must come to its senses or else it will cry like it did last year. We risk that even in this situation, whenever the vote is held, in May, in June, in July, the people of Kosovo will still be convinced that the opposition is to blame and that Kurti is right," added Nazarko.
Meanwhile, last night, the deputies of the Kosovo Assembly failed to elect a new president within the constitutional deadline, causing the Assembly to be dissolved and the country to go to new elections.
"According to the verdict, the Assembly is considered dissolved," said Speaker Albulena Haxhiu, at the end of the session, precisely at 00:00.
Opposition MPs did not participate in the April 28 session, preventing a quorum for the two LVV candidates for president, Feride Rushiti and Hatixhe Hoxha.
According to the Constitutional Court's ruling of March 25, following the failure of the presidential election, the Assembly is dissolved and the country must organize new elections within 45 days.
