Citizens protest again, pensioner: Rama is more dictatorial than Enver Hoxha, we want welfare, not racketeering

Citizens gathered again this evening in "Skënderbej" Square, on the 51st day of the protest against the government, to continue their mobilization with the demand for the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The protest began with speeches in the square, where various participants took the floor to express their opposition to the government and call on citizens to join the movement.

The protesters then marched to the Prime Minister's Office, where speeches will be held for nearly two hours. During the rally, demands for the government's resignation were repeated and its policies were criticized.

After the speeches, the protesters will continue the march through the main streets of the capital, chanting slogans against the government, and then return to the Prime Minister's Office building, where the day's protest will end.

With flags and banners in their hands, they chant: "Rama resigns", "Down with the patronageists", "Illiterate Parliament" and "Albania demands revolution", "Rama goes, Berisha goes", "Servants of crime", etc. 

One of the protesters listed the reasons that prompted him to protest, while calling on citizens, especially young people, to join the mobilization.

"I have joined the protest about the scandals that the Albanian government has made. We Albanians are in the grip of these people. I call on students, all of them, to overthrow this system. This is more dictatorial than Enver Hoxha. Kinostudio-Kombinat can't find a tap to cool off with water... In Italy, even dogs drink water. Here, I smoke a cigarette, where do you throw it? I keep it in my pocket. We are neither crows nor ravens. We want welfare, not rackets. A pensioner here gets 70 thousand lek, there 600-700-800 euros. There is no air conditioning on the bus, they don't turn it on. The temperatures are 40 degrees outside, while inside the bus they go to 70 degrees," he said.

The organizers have announced that the protests will continue in the coming days, emphasizing that their demands remain unchanged.
