French President Emmanuel Macron, in his speech at the International Economic Forum in Tirana, said that the time has come and that we must work for a safer Europe.
Macron also emphasized the importance of the common market, underlining that it is very necessary to work in three critical sectors, which according to him are telecommunications, energy, and finance.
"Thank you very much for the hospitality, I am really jealous that for the first time in Europe, this forum is taking place in Albania. Edi conveyed important messages, but I do not want to repeat them. But I want to say that in Europe it is a moment of uncertainty and for this we must have a clear strategy. My idea for Europe is that we must take advantage of the opportunity to accelerate and have a competitiveness strategy by setting investments as the main strategy. We must harmonize our regulations. Some steps have been taken. Von Der Leyen, Chancellor Merz have issued a statement to simplify the regulations. The rest is the deepening of the common market. Our strong point is that there are millions of participants and it is not treated like that by entrepreneurs. The common market is benefiting from the taxes we impose on ourselves. We must treat the common market in telecom, energy and finance, three critical sectors. Because we must have more capacity to invest. We must also have different advantages. In addition to the fact that we underuse the common market, we use less other resources,” he said.
The International Economic Community Summit "Future Investment Initiative Europe" is being held today in Tirana, at the National Opera and Ballet Theater.
The summit will also feature the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, who is arriving in Tirana today. He will speak as the CEO and founder of Affinity Partners.
Also participating in this summit is Italian senator and former Prime Minister of Italy, Matteo Renzi.
In this special edition of the summit, 8 key areas will be discussed: Fragmentation and geo-economics, energy security and independence, artificial intelligence and robotics, healthcare, industry and manufacturing, trade, tourism, and innovation in entrepreneurship.
