As hundreds of citizens and activists are marching in Tirana on the fourth day of protests against the tourist project in Zvërnec, Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted on social media by publishing a photo of projects carried out by investors who are expected to develop the investment in Vlora.
In his post, Rama harshly attacked the protest participants, dividing them between citizens concerned about the environment and those who, according to him, are being used against Albania's interests.
" Two projects already implemented by the fixed co-investors of the project that has shocked enemies of European Albania, competitors of Tourist Albania, blind Albanians who are being used as blind tools against Albania, as well as honest and environmentally sensitive Albanians ," Rama writes.
The Prime Minister has also defended the Qatari investors, emphasizing that they are legitimate owners of private land and part of a large international group.
" This is how development in harmony with nature is understood by those who are today the legitimate buyers of the private land in Zvërnec, the two famous brothers from Qatar who paid for it with bank transactions certified by Albanian and international institutions, as well as co-owners of the global conglomerate Power Holding, a major entrepreneurial power not only in the Middle East, but also beyond ," he continues.
Responding to criticism of the project, Rama called on citizens to familiarize themselves with the company's activities, arguing that such investors do not come to Albania to harm nature.
" Whoever wants to get to know their activity and learn more about the two beautiful developments posted here, should click on powerholding.com to understand who is coming to this Albania, and why they can never come to destroy, but only to elevate ," he says.
At the end of the reaction, the Prime Minister also made a comparison with the objections that, according to him, have been made in the past to other major projects.
" While those who will not listen and understand will have to wait like those who were against the national stadium, and then watched the European final in Tirana while taking selfies with the stadium ," Rama writes.
