The Democratic Party Parliamentary Group has submitted a request for a motion with debate regarding the Government's declared priorities in its political program, as well as the interference of organized crime in public life.
The Chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has requested on behalf of the Parliamentary Group a motion with debate on the Government's declared priorities in its political program, as well as the interference of organized crime in public life.
According to the letter made public, it is emphasized that:
"Albania has entered an important phase of its European journey and where the responsibility and accountability of the government are important foundations in a country that aspires to membership in the European Union. In the assessment of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, the Albanian Parliament is necessary to hold a debate on a specific issue, such as the balance of the current Government in the implementation of the past political program and the governing political program in the following period.
Membership in the European Union, which necessarily includes sustainable economic growth and the well-being of Albanian citizens, are issues that should concern every member of the Albanian Parliament and the latter should have an essential role in advancing this agenda.
Also, the efficiency of governance is directly linked to the integrity of the appointed ministers, because suspicions of criminalization of political life seriously damage the trust of citizens in public institutions and constitute a significant regression in the relations of the Albanian state with its international partners. Albanian citizens want and deserve politicians with high integrity, without criminal records in their past and without contact with elements of organized crime.
Therefore, taking into account the above, in my capacity as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party of Albania, in support of Article 98, point 1, of the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of Albania, I request the development of a motion with debate on the declared priorities of the Government in its political program, as well as the interference of organized crime in the public life of the country.
