Babloku rewards losers: 100 jobs for open list candidates

Edi Rama orders the creation of a fund for the employment of SP candidates who did not win on May 11. Some will be appointed to the Prime Minister's Office, some to the Assembly, some to the ministry. Whoever requested a recount will be left without a job...

After the Socialist Party's victory with 83 mandates in the May 11 elections, Edi Rama has not forgotten his losers. Not those who lost as citizens, but those who failed to win a seat in the Assembly, 103 candidates from the SP's open list.
According to information provided by Pamfleti, the Prime Minister has ordered the Ministry of Finance to create a special fund for 100 new jobs in the state administration, with the aim of employing former candidates who did not win a mandate.

The seats will be distributed among the Prime Minister, Parliament, ministries and central agencies, a scheme that Rama has used before to maintain political loyalty and silence those who might speak out against it.

This is not a new precedent. After the 2017 and 2021 elections, Rama has hired all former MPs and failed candidates, placing them in government positions, personal advisors, or heads of agencies with public budgets.

The cases are numerous and documented:

-Ilir Beqja, former minister and MP who lost in Shkodër, was appointed Director of the Agency for Foreign Donations.
-Frida Krifca, former Minister of Agriculture and rumored for fund scandals in AZHBR, became advisor to the Prime Minister in the Prime Minister's Office.

Thus, Toni Gogu, Klotilda Bushka, Etilda Gjonaj, Pandeli Majko, Mimi Kodheli, Plarent Ndreca, Ermonela Felaj, Arben Pëllumbi, all removed from the list due to the popular vote, are expected to be appointed to key positions in other state institutions.

But this time, the scheme has a new formula: those who have requested vote verification have been silently threatened that they will not receive employment. Rama has made it clear that the political game has internal rules, and doubt in the voting process is the biggest heresy in his party.

With this maneuver, Edi Rama turns every loser into a believer. Because unlike the principle, where running is to compete, in Rama's SP running is to enter the circle of rewards.
It doesn't matter if you are voted for. It is enough to be useful.

This is why the SP lists are so long. They are not to elect deputies, but to build an army of loyalists who will be hired one after another. The campaign for them is like a loyalty test: whoever does the work gets the job. Whoever talks too much gets out.

Instead of political losers serving as a reflection of a party that has lost touch with the grassroots, Rama turns them into bureaucratic militants. And so, the state swells with unemployed politicians who campaign instead of governing.
A model that is only on the surface “practical and smart,” but which in reality increases inequality, reduces meritocracy, and turns the administration into a party in office./ Pamphlet
