Will Lapaj accept the mandate? Pano Soko: He is the most voted, it belongs to him

Nisma Albania Becomes candidate for MP in the May 11 elections, Pano Soko, said on the Now show on Euronews Albania that the mandate won by their coalition belongs to Adriatik Lapaj as the one with the most votes from the people.

He pointed to the precedent of the 2021 elections with Tom Doshit who gave up his mandate without taking it to the CEC to explain the mechanism used by them of submitting resignations of names on the closed list.

" Lapaj is the most voted and he gets the mandate, what he does is another thing. The mandate is a responsibility that the people give him. We have the precedent of 2021, Tom Doshi received the Tirana mandate for PSD and did not participate in the receiving and handing over of the mandate but withdrew from the race. Here a precedent was created that we used, to submit the resignations of the names on the closed list on election day. Once the elections are certified, Lapaj, who received the most votes, should receive the mandate ," said Soko.
